Call for Proposals: Synergy Grant 2026

The Ministry of University and Research (MUR) has issued the Synergy Grant 2026 Call for Proposals (https://www.mur.gov.it/it/atti-e-normativa/decreto-direttoriale-n-3121-del-29-04-2026) to build upon and consolidate the experience gained through project programs funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Mission 4, Component 2) and the National Complementary Plan, urging the HUB entities of these programs to act as catalysts and aggregators of high-level scientific and industrial expertise aimed at developing research lines strongly characterized by a clear social and economic impact.

The call for proposals funds three-year projects (€5–8 million) in applied, innovative, and cutting-edge research at a high TRL.

Applications may be submitted by the Hubs of the National PNRR Centers (Proposing Entities).
The partnership must include Ecosystem Hubs or Partnerships (Implementing Entities) and implementing entities from universities, public research bodies, and businesses. At least 51% of the costs must be borne by entities classified as businesses. Additional points, up to 5 points, will be awarded for the following thematic areas:
a) high performance computing (HPC);
b) artificial intelligence;
c) cybersecurity;
d) quantum technologies;
e) innovative technologies and approaches in the healthcare sector.
