Publication of the book “Health Community Lab. A co-creation model for social and healthcare innovation in Tuscany”

In a context of pressure on the National Health Service, marked by aging, chronic conditions, and inequalities, the book proposes a paradigm shift towards a health ecosystem capable of integrating social, economic, environmental, and cultural determinants. At the heart of this innovation are Health Community Labs (HCLs), participatory models based on co-creation and a capability approach, which promote active citizenship and shared responsibility among the actors in the system. The volume is part of the research program of Spoke 10 – “Population Health” of the Tuscany Health Ecosystem, carried out by the University of Florence, through the resources of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). The experiences described show health as a common good, built in the contexts of everyday life, through the collaboration of stakeholders from different sectors of the community: public, private, and academic, but in particular through the active role of civil society.
