The European Commission has launched a public consultation process to define the strategy on life sciences in Europe. The goal is to gather views and input from citizens, researchers, businesses and stakeholders in a collaborative and inclusive process. <\/b><\/p>\n

The purpose of the consultation is to obtain information on the life sciences sector in Europe, specifically regarding:
\u2022\u2060 \u2060ways to address challenges and seize opportunities for the life sciences, such as in relation to:
\u2022 the investment landscape in Europe, both public and private;
\u2022\u2060 the collection and use of data and the development\/application of artificial intelligence;
\u2022\u2060 research and technology infrastructure;
\u2022\u2060 life sciences training and skills development;
\u2022 major emerging research areas;
\u2022 the development, manufacture, deployment, and\/or safe adoption of technologies and products in specific areas of life sciences (e.g., human and animal health, food, feed, agriculture, energy);
\u2022 ways to simplify the regulatory system and make it fit for purpose (i.e., support the growth of life sciences); and
\u2022 ways to foster people’s awareness, understanding, and engagement in life sciences and the alignment of related technological advances with societal values.<\/p>\n

The responses received to this call for input will be analyzed and a summary of the results will be made public.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Main stakeholders identified:<\/p>\n

\u2022\u2060 academia
\u2022 life sciences industries, including start-ups, SMEs and large enterprises, and their associations;
\u2022 research and technology organizations;
\u2022 professional and sectoral organizations;
\u2022 member state administrations and regional and local authorities;
\u2022 European Parliament, Committee of the Regions, and European Economic and Social Committee;\u2028
\u2022 regulatory authorities;
\u2022 civil society organizations, including patient and consumer organizations, and nongovernmental organizations;
\u2022 risk assessment bodies, national and Union;
\u2022 general public;
\u2022 investors; and
\u2022 international organizations (World Health Organization, Food and Agriculture Organization, etc. ).<\/p>\n
